Teenagers Giving Up Their Time

05/10/2018

Who says teenagers these days are only out for themselves?

A group of Year 11 Media and Moving Image Arts students from Ashfield Girls’ High School in East Belfast gave up their time recently to act as volunteers at the world premiere of Cinemagic’s second film “Grace and Goliath” which was shown in every screen at the Odyssey, Belfast.

The world premiere kick starts the Cinemagic Festival – the month-long programme of film screenings, masterclasses, and workshops offering children and young people an insight into the magic of film, television and digital technologies.

Joan Burney-Keatings MBE, producer and executive producer of the movie and Chief Executive of Cinemagic – who will also be presenting the prizes at Ashfield Girls’ Annual Prize giving later this month, said,

“We are thrilled with the positive feedback, both locally and internationally, for our latest feature film Grace and Goliath. The film showcases the beauty of Northern Ireland, its stunning landscape and also the genuine warmth, humour and spirit of the Northern Ireland people. We are unique in so many ways and this feature film captures and conveys our positivity.”
