The Society of St Vincent de Paul has been named as Charity of the Year by the Pipeline Industries Guild NI Branch for 2026, marking the beginning of a meaningful partnership aimed at supporting individuals and families living in poverty across Northern Ireland.
The collaboration reflects the NI Branch of the Guild’s ongoing commitment to giving back to local communities in the Region. Throughout the year, members of the Pipeline Industries Guild NI Branch will engage in a range of fundraising activities to support SVP’s vital work.
Pauline Brown, Regional Manager of St Vincent de Paul, welcomed the partnership. Pauline said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the Pipeline Industries Guild’s NI Branch Charity of the Year for 2026. This partnership will make a tangible difference to the lives of those we support. The generosity and commitment of the Pipeline Industries Guild NI Branch members will help us continue delivering essential assistance to individuals and families who need it most.”
The selection of SVP was made by the Guild’s newly appointed NI Branch Chair, continuing a long-standing tradition within the organisation. John McEvoy, Chair of Pipeline Industries Guild NI Branch, said: “Each year, we select a worthwhile charity to support in Northern Ireland. This year the nomination fell on me as Chair and we are pleased to support St Vincent de Paul. We choose a Charity of the Year that aligns with the Guild’s NI Branch values and community focus. Being aware of the vital work SVP carries out in local communities across Northern Ireland, the charity is the perfect fit for our fundraising efforts in 2026.”
The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international charity and the largest voluntary charity in Ireland. SVP members work in all communities to support people whatever their background, who are experiencing poverty and social exclusion, promoting self-sufficiency and working for social justice.
Last year SVP spent approximately £5.5 million to help those experiencing poverty in Northern Ireland, responding to tens of thousands of calls for assistance from members of the public.
