Mary Kelly, founding member of St Gerard’s and St Mary’s SVP Conference, recently celebrated her 100th birthday in style. Mary’s family attended a special mass in her honour and raised £1446.01 for the Society of St Vincent de Paul.
Mary is the last of her generation so her nieces and nephews were delighted to share in her centenary birthday.
Throughout her long service as a member of SVP, for which she was recognised in 2024, Mary spent many evenings carrying out Home Visitation, she was Treasurer of her Conference for a number of years and organised annual trips to Knock.
Such is the significance of SVP in Mary’s life that she has kept a copy of the commemorative book celebrating the centenary of SVP Down and Connor from 18 June 1950.
