IKEA Belfast co-workers ‘assemble’ day of dancing for cha-cha-charity

Co-workers from IKEA Belfast are assembling a day of dancing in aid of Northern Ireland’s depression charity, AWARE.

The charity is in its second year of partnership with the Holywood Exchange store and has raised over £11,000 since November 2016.

14 IKEA co-workers, alongside co-workers from the charity will be swapping the shop floor for the dance floor on Saturday 28 April, including Rachel Trousdale, Customer Relations and Marketing manager at IKEA Belfast.

Rachel says; “Learning to dance has been a fantastic experience. Having both IKEA and Aware co-workers participate, has brought together a group of relative strangers who have now formed firm friendships. I’d like to say a massive “thank-you” to Deborah and Michelle at Ballroom Blitz NI for your patience and helping us all learn a new skill!

“We’ve been fundraising as a team alongside our generous shoppers for almost two years now, it’s a fantastic way for us to support our local community, by helping to highlight the fantastic work AWARE do through their services and programmes to improve knowledge around mental wellbeing.”

Strictly Come Dancing in aid of AWARE by IKEA Belfast takes place on Saturday 28 April at the Stormont Hotel, with a matinee performance at 3pm.

Tickets start from £5 and can be purchased via the AWARE website.
