Northern Ireland’s first fudge factory has opened at Glenarm Castle just in time for the new spring season. Visitors can watch the art of fudge-making at ‘Granny Shaws Fudge Factory’ before choosing from more than 50 flavours including Eton Mess, Sea Salted Caramel and Rum and Raisin.
It is a welcome addition to Glenarm Castle’s exquisite Walled Garden where visitors can enjoy enchanted walks and the Glenarm Castle trail which gives walkers an opportunity to discover a spectacular view of the castle.
Glenarm Castle visitors can purchase membership cards before their visit online at www.glenarmcastle.com/membership, priced at £17.50 and membership entitles visitors to visit the national treasure as often as they like throughout the season, until October 2018. As well as unlimited access, membership includes special discounts on various events including the award winning Dalriada Festival (14-15 July), free admission to Bloomfest (5-7 May) and advance pre-sale tickets for the renowned Christmas Experience before general release.
This year’s packed calendar of events also includes BBC Gardener’s Corner Roadshow on 23 April and for fans of Bay City Rollers and Brian Kennedy, tickets for May in the Marquee from 25 to 27 May are already available.
Adrian Morrow, Managing Director, Glenarm Castle, said: “Our gardens are already starting to bloom into the new season and every year we are committed to offering our visitors something new at Glenarm Castle. This year is no exception with the opening of Northern Ireland’s first fudge factory where visitors can enjoy watching fudge being made before choosing which flavour to take home.”
