ARTIST ALY HARTE SUPPORTS Q RADIOTHON WITH SELL OUT WORKSHOP

Belfast artist Aly Harte has lent her support to the upcoming Q Radiothon with a sell out ‘Art and Wine’ fundraiser.

The event, hosted at Goodness Rocks in South Belfast, brought together 25 budding artists to learn art skills and receive expert advice from Aly over a glass of wine, thinking about nothing else other than the colour palette and the fun of being inspired to create their own masterpieces of pastel artworks and painted floral canvases while raising much needed funds for Action Cancer, Cancer Fund for Children, Friends of Cancer Centre and Marie Curie.

Aly Harte said: “When I was invited by Q to lend my support to the Q Radiothon it was just after I had lost my dear cousin to cancer and, with a real personal connection to seeing firsthand the work of the staff at Marie Curie, I was honoured to host this event to raise vital funds.”

Aly was joined at the event by Q Radio Breakfast Show presenter Cate Conway. Cate said: “It really was an amazing night, made all the more special by the fact we were raising money for Q Radiothon. On behalf of everyone at Q and our four charities, I’d like to thank Aly for her support of the initiative and her commitment to ensuring the event was an incredible success. I have definitely rekindled my love for art and will be first to sign up to the next workshop…which I hope is very soon!’

The evening was a tremendous success in terms of fundraising and fun!

Aly Harte hosts her first South Belfast solo exhibition, ‘Figures, Flowers and LA’ at Canvas Galleries, Thursday 10 May from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

Q Radiothon runs 31 May to 2 June.
